Welcome to the Website of the Methodist Circuit in Torbay, Devon

God is our refuge and strength,  an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way  and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,  I will be exalted in the earth.”

(Psalm 46:1-3, 6, 10)

Worship in Church

Although practices in local churches may vary – in general we ask you to note the following information:

We are aware that some people may still be wary about attending and mixing with others not in their household.  Therefore, we ask that you check before sitting next to anyone that they are happy for you to do so.  Please leave a vacant seat between yourself and another person not in your household as a matter of courtesy.

We will continue to ventilate the churches and provide hand sanitizer when you enter.

If you have any queries about in-person services, please contact the circuit office.

What do we Believe?

Along with most other denominations, the Methodist Church follows the traditional Christian creeds and more information about the Methodist Church of Great Britain and its history can be found on the national website linked below.
A question that we are often asked is 'what's different about the Methodist Church?'  and perhaps a simple answer is we stress personal faith. This means that we want what we believe to be relevant and make a difference in the lives of ordinary people.
